Sunny money savings
– is your home saving you money?

Australians are increasingly seeing the advantages of renewable energy on the environment and noticeable savings on ever-growing electricity bills. However, the dilemma of retrofitting solar panels on your home, finding a reputable supplier at the right price and understanding the kilowatt capacity you may need, can be a daunting prospect.

This isn’t a problem facing residents at Blueheath at The Bower, Medowie’s newest village for over 55s - all homes include solar panels and smart energy features so they can sit back, relax and enjoy the savings.

Development Manager Murray Blackburn-Smith oversaw the detail of the home features. “We believe that homes must not only be practical in terms of attractive living spaces and well thought out interior layouts, they must also offer good ongoing value and provide a sensitive carbon footprint.”

Homes at Blueheath offer power-sensitive design incorporating LED and sensor lights, skylights, thermal insulation in walls and ceilings, economical ceiling fans, next-generation health pump hot water systems and 6 star ducted reverse cycle air conditioning. Blackburn-Smith continues “Each detail reduces the overall power load which is serviced by solar panels – it’s economical in power use which translates to cost savings for our residents. Indeed, our existing residents at Blueheath are reporting that their power bills are averaging just $20-30 per month”.
